This is where we spent 12 hours after being diverted
(from our London to Washington DC flight plan) to Gander, Newfoundland on the
11th of September 2001. After 12 hours,
we de-planed and spent 4 days at the wonderful
Gander Academy, sleeping on a mat
on the gym floor. Well, I still think we were the lucky ones.
A heartfelt "Thank You!" goes out to the people of Gander, who made every effort
to keep the 7000+ passengers from 38 widebody jets as comfortable as possible. And thanks to Lana,
who invited us into her home for a nice, hot shower!
